Recognition of the most facial variations, such as identity, age and gender has been extensively studied. This paper concerns with providing a methodology to estimate age group and gender using face features. This process involves four stages: Pre-processing, Face Normalization, Feature Extraction and Classification. The geometric features of facial images like wrinkle geography, face angle, left eye to right eye distance, eye to nose distance, eye to chin distance and eye to lip distance are calculated. Based on the texture and shape information age classification is done. Age ranges are classified dynamically depending on number of groups using SVM classifier algorithm. This paper can be used for predicting future faces, classifying gender, and expression detection from facial images.

Keywords - Face detection, Feature extraction, Gaussian filter, LBP, Matlab, SVM .

Image authentication watermarking scheme can substantially solve the security of digital images transmitted through insecure channel. In this paper we propose a semi-fragile watermarking scheme for image authentication, localizing and recovering. The approximation sub-band of the second Discrete Wavelet Transformation (DWT), LL2 is used as recovery watermark while the fifth approximation sub-band LL5 is used as authentication and localizing watermark. The two watermarks are embedded into the first approximation sub-band LL1 using the Quantization Index Modulation (QIM). To reduce the size of the recovery watermark, Data Representation through Combination (DRC) is practically used. The experimental results show that our proposed algorithm can resist JPEG compression and give an acceptable estimation of the watermarked image even after the watermarked image has been tampered.

Keywords - semi-fragile watermarking, DRC, authentication, localizing, recovering.

Air pollution and noise pollution from vehicles is a factor included in the assessment of the environmental impact of road. In order to carry out this assessment it is necessary to have a method to know the environmental condition of the road. In the relation to the roadside environmental problems, the planner should be know the environmental condition of each road section or road side, such as which roadside have bad environmental condition. This is very useful for planning and improving purpose. This paper describes the method of evaluating the environmental condition of road through the comparison of each roadside. To support this evaluating works, the preference analysis method were developed is used to find the designated output. Through this evaluation method, the ranking of roadside in relation to the environmental condition is proposed. The ranking is presented from the roadside with bad environmental condition this micro level presentation is then practicable and enormously useful for further inspire in roadside environmental evaluation.

Hazardous materials are defined to be the substances that can have harmful effects to human, environment and property. These risks exist due to the nature, the hazardous properties or the state of the above materials. Fuels are categorized to flammable hazardous materials, either in the liquid or gas phase. Industrial needs as well as several human activities depend on the daily transportation of fuels. The consequences of road accidents involving fuel fires cannot be compared to the ones of simple collisions in terms of seriousness. Risks involved in transportation because of freight's hazardous properties (flammability, explosivity etc) are probable to give an extended radius to the affected area during a fire accident. A methodology for conducting a fire safety study during transportation of fuels and the basic elements for emergency and security planning are given with some indicative examples for implementation.............

This paper analyzes the influence of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in the tensile strength of cement slurries used in oil wells. CNTs were directly synthesized on cement clinker by chemical vapor deposition process. Cement slurries containing 0.1% and 0.3% of CNTs bwoc were compared with CNT-free slurries. Polynaphtalene sulfonated (0.2% bwoc) was used as dispersant in all cement slurries. Tensile strength was evaluated at the age of 28 days. The results show the presence of CNTs in the cement slurries increases the tensile strength in approximately 65% for 0.1% CNT bwoc at age of 28 days.

Iron aluminides (Fe3Al) intermetallic and steel were joined successfully by vacuum brazing using of BNi-2 braze alloy. Brazing experiments were carried-out at bonding temperature 1040 oC and at different bonding time 2- 20 minutes. Fe3Al/BNi-2/steel joints were thus formed. The microstructure features in the Fe3Al/BNi-2/steel joints were analyzed by a variety of characterization techniques such as optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy- dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), electronic probe microanalysis (EPMA) and an X-ray diffractometer. The micro-hardness from Fe3Al to steel through BNi-2 braze alloy were measured with a Vickers microhardness. The shear strength of the Fe3Al/BNi-2/steel joints were evaluated with a shear test machine and the maximum shear strength of Fe3Al/BNi-2/steel joints was 496 MPa for joints bonded at bonding temperature of 1040 oC and bonding time of 5 minutes.........

The combined effect of Coriolis force due to rotation and magnetic field dependent (MFD) viscosity on the onset of Bénard-Marangoni convection in a horizontal layer of ferrofluid is investigated theoretically. The lower boundary is taken to be rigid with fixed temperature, while the upper free boundary at which temperaturedependent surface tension effect is considered is non-deformable and subject to a general thermal condition. The Rayleigh-Ritz's method is employed to extract the critical stability parameters numerically with thermal Rayleigh number t R or Marangoni number Ma as the eigenvalue. The results reveal that, the Taylor number...........

This study investigates the effect of admixtures on the compressive strength and permeability of concrete. Five mixes comprising of a control mix and four modified mixes using the following admixtures: accelerator, water proofer, two superplasticizers namely- Sulphonated Naphthalene Formaldehyde condensates (SNF) and a Poly carboxylate Ether (PCE). The control mix was designed for a grade 30 concrete with a water cement ratio (w/c) of 0.55. To maintain constant slump, the w/c ratio was reduced on application of the admixtures. Compressive strength test was carried out at 3, 7 and 28 days; while Initial Surface Absorption Test ISAT and High Pressure Permeability Tests HPPT were both carried out after 28days. Results indicate that SNF and PCE superplasticizer can be used to enhance exceedingly the performance and durability of concrete.

The term biometrics comes from the combination of the Greek words 'bios', which Means life, and 'metric', which in its turn means measuring. Biometric technologies aim primarily at identifying a person's unique features, be those physiological or behavioural. Failure rate is a critical consideration in the configuration and day to day running of a biometric system. Two types of failure rate must be considered; false acceptance rates and false rejection rates. PCA (principal component analysis) model system was used for the face recognition. The system was successfully designed using MATLAB. The face recognition was implemented and the system performance was tested using ORL database (face sets) validation, generalization and rejection testing methods. The system performance was good and the efficiency of the system was proven by plotting a graph. The system was design and was successfully tested and it has proven to be efficiently, although under bad condition the system does its best to provide the right top five ranking image.

The purpose of this research was to develop sugarcane wax extraction from pressmud of clarification process in sugar manufacturing plant using accelerated solvent extractions (ASE) and to optimize its heat recovery using pinch analysis. The sugarcane wax yield of 14.1% achieved from a developed commercial–scale ASE and purification process was comparable to the previously reported yield. At the minimum temperature difference of 12°C, selection of the most economical heat recovery of the heat exchanger network (HEN) alternative among eight alternatives designed by Aspen Energy Analyzer™ was based on an incremental net present value (NPV). The most cost-effective HEN alternative could lower the total annual cost by 4% comparing to the current HEN.
