Contributing in Indian Armed Forces as an Officer is an apparent responsibility followed by the challenging scenarios both for serving men and women. With its ethos, in Indian Armed Forces, to be an Officer one must possess the Officer Like Qualities (OLQs) and ironically it is believed that such kinds of qualities are present in everyone, but responsiveness may alter from person to person. Substantially, the challenging environment in the Indian Armed Forces, its influence and individual thinking; together all develop a person as he or she is and with multi faceted service like Indian Armed Forces, it becomes absolute to have some special skills; like Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Physical Fitness and Psychology with various intensities. This paper provides detailed suggestions for developing dynamic Officer Like Qualities in future officers, men and women. The paramount target of this paper is especially aspirant women and young scholars in general, having desire to join Indian Armed Forces; however authors with all level of proficiency may find useful intellection in the paper.

Pregnancy testing in cattle are of two types i.e., invasive and non-invasive. Invasive methods includes manual rectal palpation of the reproductive tract that causes risks to theoperator and pregnancy, transrectal ultrasonography of the reproductive tract, etc. andnon-invasive methods includes enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), radioimmunoassay (RIA) or latex agglutination (LA) tests, etc. As, invasive methods are harmful to either pregnant cowor a person who is performing the test or both and the existing non-invasive methods are notpreferred as it has low specificity, sensitivity and also difficult to handle the sample. Our main motto is to design a method which is non-invasive method which has better accuracy and can be operated by any unskilled person. Here, we present a simulation model of the design usingMATLAB. The pregnant state of the cow will be detected with less response time as soon as the data is fed into the code designed.

The Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle is currently the most popular software solution which provides many modules for various teaching and learning purposes. However, several aspects related to adapatbility are typically missing in Moodle. Personalization and Adaptation are among the main challenges in the field of e-learning. This paper presents a framework for extending Moodle to support adaptability by incorporating learning styles features to Moodle. We use the users module and lesson module from Moodle and add the extra modules of adaptation by adding modules based on student learning styles.

The new H.265/HEVC video coding standard promotes the realization of 4K/8K ultrahigh definition (UHD)video applications. To improve the coding efficiency, H.265/HEVC allows motion estimation (ME) performing on multiple reference frames (MRF).Although the MRF can enhance the performance and allow the encoder to search a better reference frame from several previous pictures, the computational complexity of the MRF-based ME(MRF-ME) module dramatically increases. To accelerate the process of MRF prediction, we propose a fast MRF-ME algorithm based on data mining to speed up encoding process of H.265/HEVC encoder. Firstly, we find that there is a high temporal-spatial correlation existing in the MRF. Then, we find appropriate attributes from MRF-ME module and extract the corresponding data............

Although the LSB algorithm for information hiding exploits the weakness of the human vision sensitivity (HVS) to hide secret data in a cover medium, it is relatively vulnerable to statistical steganalysis thus increasing the possibility of an eavesdropper decoding and retrieving the hidden message. This is partly aided by the sequential nature in which the algorithm replaces the target least significant bits of the cover image with the bits of the secret message making it easy for a steganalysis tool to zero in the image bits which are out of pattern with the rest.............

A dual polarization bow-tie slot antenna for broadband communications is proposed in this paper. This antenna consists of two bow-tie slot antennas which is perpendicular to each other and with coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed. The proposed antenna has a very simple antenna structure and wide impedance bandwidth (~ 400% for|S11|and|S22|≧ 10dB) which can cover the 1.5 ~ 6 GHz frequency band for Global Positioning System (GPS, 1575MHz) and dual ISM band (2.4GHz and 5.8GHz) applications. Good isolation between the two input ports (|S21|≧ 20dB) is also achieved at the operating band. The radiation pattern and efficiency of the proposed antenna are also measured, and radiation pattern data are compared with simulation results.

Cellulose hydrolysis assisted by microwave is lately receiving more attention. Most of these studies are carried out in aqueous phase, and the parameters which are analyzed are microwave power, irradiation time, catalyst nature, catalyst concentration and cellulose loadings. However, in this study, we show how small concentrations of chlorine enhance cellulose hydrolysis to glucose and levulinic acid, against huminlike compounds,at short reaction times and low temperature. As a result, the addition of an inexpensive salt such NaCl, reduces the processing times leading to a more sustainable process.

The accident at the Fukushima-Daichii nuclear plant has generated worldwide debates and deeply raised public concern about the safety of nuclear power plants. The lessons to be drawn from the Fukushima accident are as follows. First, the accident was a result of the worst earthquake and tsunami in Japan's modern history Second, given the extraordinary magnitude of the initiating events (i.e. earthquake was 9.0 vs design 8.2, tsunami wave was 14 m vs design 5.7 m), the Fukushima-Daichii plant has performed relatively well in some respects and so far there is no evidence of major human errors in handling the crisis. It is noted that the containments at Units 1 and 3 have not failed, in spite of the exceptional loads they have been subject to. In fact, no loss of life has occurred as a result of the accident............

Demand for industrial forest products has risen sharply in Ethiopia in recent years due to population, urbanization and economic growth. In the past industrial wood product demand were covered by indigenous timber species, which now-a-days have declined due to unwise exploitation and deforestation. An alternative solution is planting of exotic fast growing species, and this has been promoted and utilized in the country to narrow down the gap between supply and demand. One of the exotic species most planted in Ethiopia is Eucalypt. Despite the abundance of wood from this species now in Ethiopia, its industrial uses are not wide and apparently face several challenges............

Microalgae are recognized as source for renewable and environmental-friendly alternative to fossil fuels. Chlorella sp. are algae capable of accumulating lipids in specific growth conditions. In this study, it was established the growth conditions required for a new strain of Chlorella to accumulate biomass and lipids. The new strain, designated as Chlorella sp., was grown in open photobioreactors located in a semiarid region of Brazil, using nutrient conditions with high levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK), leading to accumulation of biomass. In addition, the new strain of Chlorella was characterized in terms of physicochemical properties and starch accumulation. Decreasing the levels of NPK and supplementing the medium with an additional source of carbon enhanced the levels of starch and lipid accumulation and modified the profile of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) produced by Chlorella sp. These results revealed possibilities in developing affordable and scalable microalgal lipids for biofuel production.

Author Name :: Anastas Ivanov Ivanov

:: 10.9790/1813-0706020108

The absolute motion of an arbitrary asymmetric rigid body is studied. This motion is determined after its relative motion has been obtained. The most important peculiarity in this dynamical rigid body model is that the selected pole does not coincide with its mass center. Seven new kinematic characteristics have been defined. The first ones are the following vectors: real absolute, transmisive and relative generalized velocities. The second ones are the vectors-real absolute, transmisive, relative and Coriolisian generalized accelerations. Two new theorems are formulated. The first one is for summation the vectors of real generalized velocities. The second one is for summation the vectors of real generalized accelerations. The system of differential equations describing the rigid body relative motion in matrix form is determined. The algorithm for obtaining the rigid body absolute motion is described.

The burden of road traffic injury and death is high especially in developing countries of the world. This is where Nigeria falls. This paper shows that many developed countries have worked at reducing this burden, which is responsible for the difference between developing and developed countries' road safety experience. The establishment of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was an effort at bringing down the burden of road carnage in Nigeria. FRSC, on her part, has developed various activities as strategies to achieve her goals. This paper obtained quantitative data on these activities and the road traffic crash indices associated with them...........

Increasing pre-combustion turbulence level by air motion inside the intake system and combustion chamber is one of the significant elements to improve the fuel economyindiesel engines. In this study, different intake port configurationswere produced by rotating the base intake port about the cylinder axisand inclining it about the symmetry axis both 30° CW and CCW directions. The effects of these configurations on enhancingswirl, tumble, turbulence level and combustion efficiencywere numerically investigated during intake, compression, and power strokes by using RNG k-ɛ turbulent model in ANSYS FLUENT. The simulation results showed that the inclined port configurations such as -30I and +30I enhanced swirl ratio and created more turbulencenear TDC on the compression stroke comparing to other configurations...........

Supranational organizations in the field of nuclear energy, such as the IAEA and the NEA at a global level and EURATOM at a European level owe their existence to international treaties that regulate the operation of nuclear installations in the various member states that subscribe to these international organizations. These treaties have generated a common and binding regulatory framework that is similar in all countries. The 'Convention on Nuclear Safety', adopted on June 17, 1994, refers to the regulation of the different stages in the life of a nuclear installation, including the design, construction, operation and decommissioning phases, which are of special relevance to this article. The 'service life' of a nuclear installation will be defined in accordance with the safety, which will have to be studied and assessed by 'regulatory bodies' in each circumstance; without any reference to a statistical or a pre-set life span, nor to it being of a 40-year duration...........

This paper addresses a unified work for achieving single image super-resolution, which consists of improving a high resolution from blurred, decimated and noisy version. Single image super-resolution is also known as image enhancement or image scaling up. In this paper mainly four steps are used for enhancement of single image resolution: input image, low sampling the image, an analytical solution and L2 regularization. This proposes to deal with the decimation and blurring operators by their particular properties in the frequency domain, which leads to a fast super-resolution approach...........

The quality of concrete can be judged by its compressive strength. Non-Destructive Tests (NDT) are necessary to assess the compressive strength of structural members in an existing building like the one understudy (Emmanuel Egboga building, University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria). The purpose of this research work is to investigate the strength of this building which has shown cracks of different nature, to ascertain the safety of the building. The method adopted consists of reconnaissance survey to observe the occurrence of any crackand location of structural elements in the building. A device invented by Schmidt (a roman) called Schmidt Concrete Test Hammer was used to determine the residual strength of the structural members (which are beam, column, floor slab) of the building understudy...........

The ineluctability of solid state ac-dc step-up converters to raise power quality in terms of power factor correction (PFC), diminished total harmonic distortion at input ac mains and absolutely regulated dc output have motivated the control methods based on power electronics based compensators and other static controllers, such as FACTS technologies. Utmost power factor correction circuits present in the industrial market exploit unidirectional ac-dc step-up converter topologies, this is an around no-cost solution for compensating harmonic current and reactive power in residential application. By using unidirectional ac-dc step-up converter harmonic current and reactive power compensation is at beforehand investigated.........

Laboratory investigation of flexible pavement was carried out using asphalt concrete samples to simulate the behaviour of actual field conditions of a flexible pavement under light, medium and heavy traffic conditions. The study was carried out in order to ascertain the variation that will result in the elastic modulus of flexible pavements modified with candle wax using Timoshenko's stress-strain analysis from Hooke's Law of Linearity. Furthermore, the concretes were subjected to tensile splitting by the application of static loads across the diametral axis of the concretes to obtain stresses and strains in both horizontal and vertical directions within the elastic region. The results obtained were imputed into Timoshenko's model for obtaining elastic modulus of materials..........
