Thermal treatment has long played a significant role in ex-situ soil remediation. Although it has a significant effect on eliminating semi-volatile and volatile organic compounds andis highly applicable to partial remediation of severely-contaminated soils, there are still limitations to such technology. On the other hand, not only can microwave heating treatment conserve time and energy, but it is also eco-friendly and can overcome difficulties encountered when applying traditional heating methods. Hence, microwave heating treatment will become a valuable technology for soil remediation in the future. Based on this observation, this study first applied microwave heating treatment to Taiwanese soil, a Taikang (Tk) series soil, and we observed factors that caused the temperature of the soil to rise. Then, we prepared a glyphosate-contaminated Tk series soil to simulate the degradation of high-concentration glyphosate in the soil......... The main objective of this research is to model the variation of the physical and mechanical properties of Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB), stabilized with bamboo fibers treated with sodium hydroxyde (NaOH) according to the cure time. To do this, two types of samples were produced: earth-fibers (A) and earth-cementfibers (B). The cement and fiber contents in the mixes are respectively 8% and 0.75%, for a compaction stress of 15 MPa. The cure times were 21, 42, 63, and 84 days. The tests focused on the density, porosity, resistance to compression and its Young modulus, resistance to bending and its Young modulus. The results lead to the obtaining, for each property studied, of an equation of the type y = ax2 + bx + c, where each property (y) varies as a function of the cure time (x); which makes it possible to obtain for a cure period (x), the trend (improvement or not) that the property studied takes; we can thus observe the following with regard to this study:......... The ultimate feature of every electrical machine, whether a generator, motor or transformer is its output characteristics. It is the yard-stick upon which the machine is evaluated. Obviously, the output characteristics of all conventional transfer field reluctance machines are much inferior to that of a conventional induction machine of comparable size and ratings. This is an attribute of their low direct axis reactance to quadrature axis reactance ratio, coupled with the excessive leakage reactance from the quadrature axis reactance. These are as a result of the salient nature of their rotor pole structures. To ameliorate these set-backs, their rotor designs have to be optimized. This is achieved by the introduction of cage (rotor) windings at the periphery of the machine shaft.......... The objective of this research is to calculatebusinessfeasibility and to analysis fishing seasonal pattern of trolling fisheries.Business feasibility was approached founded on business earning analysis whether fishing seasonal pattern by fishing seasonal index. Annual total cost reached about Rp. 274,629,500. and annual net income wasRp. 114,074,500. Net benefit cost ratio was 2.13, payback period was 2 years 5 months and internal rate of return (IRR) was45,56%.The results of business analysis of trolling fisheries atFV Harapan Jaya explained that the business was profitable and worth the effort. Based on fishing seasonal index that the peak fishing season is on July to November, and the low is on December to February. Portfolio management is an effective means of investment, but it is a very difficult task to make a proper portfolio management in virtual currency market. A portfolio management system based on deep-reinforcement learning is proposed to conduct more profitable portfolios in virtual currency market. The prices of virtual currency are driven by many factors(such as investors' confidence, emotions, regulations), but the traditional methods can't effectively deal with historical data. To solve this problem, a separable convolution is proposed. In a virtual currency market, the price rise only occurs in a flash. Experimental results in virtual currency market show that our model can get more returns. Besides, the higher Sharpe ratio indicates our method is more resistant to long-term risks. Natural gas dehydration using solvents like triethylene glycol (TEG) can reduce water dew point to sales gas quality, thereby avoiding corrosion, hydrate formation and plugging of flowlines. A study of the water due point adjustment unit of a real plant within an Associated Gas Gathering (AGG) Facility in Nigeria's B field revealed that the limited performance of the TEG solvent currently in use decreases the quality of the marketed gas by raising the hydrate formation potential of the gas exported from this facility, with the number of complaints from gas buyers also increasing. In this work, we investigate the performance of the dehydration unit within the AGG Facility using a proprietary process simulator in which the performance of the glycol currently in use (TEG) and a proposed glycol with adjusted properties.......... The analysis of laminar natural convection in an enclosure is as varied as the enclosure geometry, its orientation and thermal boundary conditions. In this work, simulation of 2-D laminar natural convection heat transfer in a right-angled triangular rooftop enclosure when heated isothermally from the inclined walls (summer condition) and when heated from the base wall (winter condition) are investigated using COMSOL Multiphysics code. The effects of Rayleigh number, pitch angle, and the heating side on the flow structure and temperature distribution within the enclosure are examined. Results indicate that, for winter condition, at low pitch angle, the heat transfer between the cold inclined and hot base walls is very high resulting in multicellular flow structure. But as the pitch angle increases......... Keywords - Laminar Natural Convection, Pitch Angle, Right-Angled Triangular Roof Shape. @article{key:article,

In this study, laminar air flow and temperature distribution in a trapezoidal rooftop enclosure when heated isothermally from the inclined walls (summer condition) and when heated from the base wall (winter condition) are examined using COMSOL MULTIPHYSICS code. The effects of Rayleigh number, pitch angle, and the heating side on the flow structure and temperature distribution within the enclosure are investigated. Results indicate that, for winter condition, at low Raleigh number, the flow patterns within the enclosure are smooth and perfectly normal to the isotherms indicating the dominance of conduction. As Rayleigh number increases, flow slowly become convective dominant with more cells developed within the enclosure. At a low pitch angle, multiple heat flow circulations with high intensity.......... Keywords - Laminar Natural Convection, Pitch Angle, Trapezoidal Rooftop Shape. @article{key:article,

Ground vibration is one of the major devastating effects of blasting. Blasting is a term that is synonymous with mining of economic minerals, quarryingand engineering works where it is being used to construct underground tunnels (tunneling). In Nigeria, individuals, companies and cooperate bodies have commercialized mineral extraction through small scale and sometimes large scale mining activities which are usually accompanied by rock blasting. Chippings from crushed rock is a product of rock blasting commonly used for construction of engineering structures such as roads, bridges and houses. In general, the overall economic benefits of rock blasting outweigh the adverse effects, but notwithstanding, rock blasting as a practice does not only alter the serenity of a natural environment but induces ground vibration in the earth. This however causesenvironmental degradation and high......... Keywords - Blasting, Mechanism, effects, control, vibration, associated, rock. @article{key:article,

Photovoltaic (PV) array which is composed of modules is considered as the fundamental power conversionunit of a PV generator system. The PV array has nonlinear characteristics and it is quite expensive and takesmuch time to get the operating curves of PV array under varying operating conditions. In order to overcome these obstacles, common and simple models of solar panel have been developed and integrated to many engineeringsoftware including Matlab/Simulink. However, these models are not adequate for application involving hybrid energysystem since they need a flexible tuning of some parameters in the system and not easily understandable for readersto use by themselves. Therefore, this paper presents a step-by-step procedure for the simulation of PV cells/modules/arrays with Tag tools in Matlab/Simulink. A 200-Watt solar panel is used as reference model.........
