This research entails the use of reliability analysis for predicting failures of machines used in the cement industries and was done by evaluating machine down times data. This research work was necessitated by the need to accurately predict failures of the machines used in the cement industries and come up with an effective planning, for preventive maintenance schedule and reducing down times through developed mathematical model for the machines. The failure frequency variation with time was determined and a regression analysis using least squares methods. Correlation was done to ascertain the suitability of linear regression of the data and also to determine that, the independent variable is a good predictor of the dependent variable............ At high velocities, such as on highways, the relative velocity between the oncoming wind and side winds is very high. The high velocity winds that act on the bumper induce certain stresses on it. These stresses may cause deformation of the bumper; if this deformation exceeds a predesigned value, the functionality of the bumper may be hampered. This may result in safety issues and other design issues. In this paper, the effect and nature of these stresses have been quantified by conducting a wind-induced stress analysis on a model of the bumper. The bumper selected is that of Jeep Wrangler and the modelling is done on Creo 2.2. The CFD simulation and structural analysis is conducted on Ansys Workbench 15. The structural analysis and fluid flow data is summarized alongwith the deformation and induced stress values. The article puts forward an approach to compute cubic uniform B-spline by means of combination of digital logic circuit and presents a scheme for the circuit design. By deducing relationship between cubic uniform B-spline basis and the Bernstein basis of Bezier curve, the article discloses that a cubic uniform B-spline can be a linear combination of Bezier curves. Based on such fact, a design for high-speeded B-spline generator is presented in the article. The designed generator is of high speed and can be applied on development of graphics and image process, robotic and CNC systems and other related areas. In this study we investigated electrical and optical properties of heterojunctions made of aluminum doped Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods and 4% Boron doped p-type silicon (p-Si). ZnOnanorods were grown by a chemical bath deposition (CBD) techniqueon a seed layer of ZnOsputtered on p-Si. Aluminum doping was achieved by incorporating 0-20% of aluminum nitrate in the chemical bath precursor solution. Room temperature photoluminescence showed a systematic decrease in the defect peak at 560 nm with increasing doping. Band gap was measured using UV-VIS spectroscopy shows that the band gap increased from 3.31 eV to 3.58 eV as the doping is varied from 0-20%..................... The sun irradiance (G) and temperature (T) are the two main factors that affect the output power gained from the photovoltaic (PV) DC–DC converter. Therefore, to enhance the performance of the overall system; a mechanism to track the maximum power point (MPP) is required. Conventional maximum power point tracking approaches, such as observation and perturbation technique, experience difficulty in identifying the true MPP. Therefore, intelligent systems including fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) are introduced for the maximum power point tracking system (MPPT)................ This work shows the optimization of two different types of plastic materials to measure a response variable, in order to select the best material that accomplishes the customer´s requirements in a company in the appliances sector. Factorial designs are an effective tool applied to compare two or more materials in order to choose the one that best accomplishes the requirement. The 24 factorial experimental design aims to study the effect of various factors on one or more response variables when it is necessary to know all factors. Factors considered in this case were: plasticity temperature, pigment, injection time and injection pressure. Data mining works to extract information known in advance from the enormous quantities of data which can lead to knowledge. It provides information that helps to make good decisions. The effectiveness of data mining in access to knowledge to achieve the goal of which is the discovery of the hidden facts contained in databases and through the use of multiple technologies. Clustering is organizing data into clusters or groups such that they have high intra-cluster similarity and low inter cluster similarity.
