This paper presents the use of a recent developed algorithm inspired by the hunting mechanism of antlions in nature, called ant lion optimization (ALO) algorithm for solving combined environmental economic dispatch (CEED) problem in power systems considering valve-point effect and transmission loss. The main objective of the proposed method is the simultaneous minimization of the generation cost and pollutant emission with considering the weigthing factor while satisfying load demand and operational constraints. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been tested on 10-generator system and the results were compared with other methods reported in recent literature. The results show that the proposed algorithm is capable of producing better results. The problem of unstable relationships and late marriages is an issue that continues to plague men and women. Societal values and traditions have caused many to jump into unhealthy unions to avoid shame and disgrace. Online matchmaking sites have seized this opportunity to propose matching techniques to solve the problem. However, the resultant effects are random and bad matches due to over exaggerated and unscientific matching procedures which make users feel rejected thus escalating the problem of men and women in the society. In this research, we present a way of producing optimised matches by studying recommender systems and applying it to matchmaking. Our results indicate that the rate of successful connections can be significantly improved from similarity to reciprocity match. A match based on the reciprocity recommender systems provides the highest matching percentage for most compatible users and lower for users who were not as compatible. Thus streamlining the random matching and producing higher match integrity. Keywords - Matchmaking, Recommender systems, Reciprocity, Collaborative filtering. @article{key:article,

This paper presents a fully integrated Fractional-N phase locked loop (Frac-N) to cover the X-band frequency. In this paper a new linearization technique is proposed in the Charge Pump (CP) circuit. The Frac-N is implemented in the circuit level in 180-nm CMOS standard. Simulation result shows that the CP's currents are well matched and the maximum mismatch is around 0.4 μA in the Vctrl ranging of 0.2-1.6 V. Simulated phase noise of the Frac-N shows that the close-in phase noise at offset frequencies of 1 KHz, 10 KHz, and 100 KHz for when the technique is OFF are -40 dBc/Hz, -77 dBc/Hz, and -82 dBc/Hz, respectively, and when the technique is ON are -63 dBc/Hz, -88 dBc/Hz, and -96 dBc/Hz, respectively. Power consumption of the designed Frac-N is about 20-mW with a single 1.8-V power supply. Study conducted on foraging frequency of various Apis species on the boom of parerental lines of Brassica napus plots raised for hybrid seed production, to evaluate their pollination efficiency, revealed that Apis cerana visited more number of flowers/min., followed by A. mellifera and A. dorsata . The foraging rate of A. florea was significantly low. However there was no significant difference between foraging frequency of A. cerana and that of A. mellifera. Thus these two species were efficient pollinators as far as foraging frequency was concerned, as foraging rate is one of the important factors to determine pollinating efficiency of insect visitors. Foraging rate of all the species of bees was higher on CMS line flowers as compared to that on R Line. Present study will help to manage an efficient and economic hybrid seed production programme in case of B. napus. The motto among research workers now might almost be "Give us a crop and we will find an efficient bee to pollinate it." Research efforts on the use of genetic as well as cytoplasmic male sterile system have been intensified in recent past to produce hybrid seeds. Distance between pollinizer and seed plant rows as well as frequency of restorer line rows varied in different row ratio plots, which influenced cross pollination and yield of hybrid seeds significantly. Quality and quantity of seeds got changed with changing male to female line row ratios. Suitable row ratio is the most important factor. The present study revealed that for maximum percentage of pod set and more number of seed set per pod, suitable male to female line row ratio was 2 : 4, followed by 1:4 and 1:8............ This study is a case study on preliminary cost estimation model for road maintenance and upgrading project at Public Works Department of Bina Marga East Java - Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to plan the initial project cost estimate. Data were collected from project cost budgets from 2010 to 2017 obtained from project contractors. The 2010-2017 project budget data is converted to 2017 per m2 on the basis of the inflation value prevailing in the year of project implementation. In this work we studied the analytical solution of steady state analysis of heat conductivity in an annular cylindrical nuclear fuel element. The fuel element used for this modelling was UO2 (Uranium oxide fuel), the cladding material was Zircalloy-2. The model was a simple model where heat transfer in the axial direction is neglected and also, the tiny gap between the outer diameter of the fuel pellet and the inner diameter of the cladding is ignored. Boundary conditions were taken and solution was obtained, the temperature was plotted against the radial distance, the result was compared with the obtained computer-based result using ANSYS APDL, the results were comparable with much accuracy, hence the aim of validating the result was achieved.
